Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:17
What do people see when you’re in the store? What do they see when you’re at work? What does your family see at home?
I was in a retail store not too long ago, and I was there for a long time. As a matter of fact I believe I was there for about 2.5 hours. The representative assisting me was very pleasant and patient, and so was I. One thing I did notice was one store manager checking on me while I was waiting so patiently, and making sure all was well. I would tease a little about having donuts and coffee, but I assured the manager all was well with me.
There were a few glitches with the process going through, but yet in still I waited patiently without any concerns because the sales rep and I understood we had all day. Towards the end of the process, the main store manager approached me and stated how he recognized I had been there for a while and wanted to make sure I was okay. I teased a little more about coffee and donuts, but I had to let the manager know that I had a very pleasant experience in his store. The manager went on to inform me that I can contact him anytime for anything, and we talked a little more and laughed.
See, your light has to shine no matter where you are. Is it shining with patience? Is it shining with compassion? How are men and women seeing your light in public?
Our light shining is not how well we preach, or how big our Bible is; it’s not even how well we wear clergy attire, but our light is how we handle and conduct ourselves in this world. So I encourage you to “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Be Blessed ✌
