I am reminded of the scripture in Ezekiel 18:4 that says, “Behold, all souls are mine;…” This brought my mind to a place that caused me to think about “all souls.” I also had to think about how I treat people I do not know, and the people I do know.
This resignated in me because if all souls belong to God (in which I know they do) why am I treating people with such discontent? If I am hateful towards someone who is of another skin color than myself, then I am showing God that I hate him because that person belongs to God, and God created them in His image and in His likeness (Genesis 1:27).
Now, they may not be where “we think” they should be, but they still belong to God. Colossians 3:23 tells us to do all things as unto the Lord. So, when I beat or kill someone because their skin color is not like mine, I have beat and killed the Lord.
When I show brutal hatred towards someone because their lifestyle isn’t acceptable to society or the scriptures, I have just taken matters into my own hands and brought forth vengeance on a soul that belongs to God when he tells us that vengeance belongs to Him and He will repay (Romans 12:19).
When I call people out of their name, stereotype them, harass them, lie to them, steal from them, abuse them, and whatever else we do to people to gain control over them, we are abusing a soul that belongs to God, and we are doing it unto God.
We abuse, and mistreat our spouse and justify ourselves by saying, “I’m a man and that’s what I’m supposed to do.” But what he fail to realize is that the way he treats his spouse is how he is treating God, because she belong to God.
A woman that emasculate her husband by making him feel less than a man and attempting to make him feel as though he’s nothing without her, has just disrespected God by attempting to emasculate God because that husband belongs to God.
All of this hatred, bigotry, racism, and violence that is taking place today in the world is due to a people that do not know God and His love. They do not realize that these souls they are attacking belong to God and what we do to any particular group of people, we are doing it unto God.
The Lord is watching and taking notice of what we are doing and we all will be rewarded according to our deeds. We must repent of our wrong doings and allow the love of Christ to enter our heart and be filled with his unspeakable joy and peace.
