Don’t Follow Your Heart

W1134893heart copy (2)e have been instructed many times in our life to “FOLLOW OUR HEART.” We have also said when we are making an attempt to justify our shortcomings, “GOD KNOW MY HEART.”

Now with that being said, Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

The only thing that our heart can lead us to is a pathway of deception. This means we will not be able to know the truth, walk in the truth, or accept the truth. Everything that our heart will lead us to will always deceive us. Even what we think is true the scripture says that our heart will deceive us above “ALL THINGS.” This includes what we think is right because there is a way that seem right to us but that way will lead us to death.valentines-day-evil-heart-wallpapers-1024x768

To be desperate means that you are willing to do whatever it takes to get what you want. A hungry person will rob, steal, or kill to get food for self or family because they are desperate. Our heart is like this towards everything that is evil and wicked. That is anything that does not give God glory.

Now this leads me to my last point; who can know it? Only God can because verse 10 of that chapter says, “I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”

Let the Lord purify your heart with truth and righteousness, and be careful when people instruct you, or you instruct yourself to follow your heart because you are being lead down a path of destruction.

Don’t follow your heart, but do Proverbs 3:5-7 which says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” 542461_519749298048225_849773634_n

As a Servant

In order to be a successful leader, one must learn how to be a servant to those that he/she is leading. The word serve is not a bad thing, but in fact it describes what leaders should do: to furnish or supply with something needed or desired. A leader should be able to supply his/her people with what they need in order to accomplish the task at hand. A leader should also answer the needs of his/her people. This is very important because without this the people will dry up and wither away, and they will feel like they are being used up and not being taken care of. And finally a leader should provide services that benefit or help. A leader should never do anything to benefit or help themselves, but they should do all that they can to help and benefit their workers, their community, or those that they provide services to. Luke 22:26 But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
